Early Spring Activities for Kids
We have some great spring activities for kids. Spring allows adults and kids alike to step out of the day-to-day and into the peace of your own backyards. After a long winter… it is finally time to play. Gather the kids and get to work, spring is here!
Nature Walk
You don’t have to live in the country to find an abundance of natural treasures. Stroll around your neighborhood, and scout for flowers, seed pods, acorns, a feather, an interesting rock, or a cool stick. After you complete your walk, sit as a group and review your pieces. Have fun playing with your kids, learning about each piece and building your collection week after week. http://rhythmofthehome.com/2011/02/backyard-seasonal-activities-children/
Play Garden
Create a small patch of the garden for the kids to call their own where some playful and fun learning can take place. Plant a few low maintenance flowers to add some warmth and fill the rest with hand shovels, garden gloves, buckets, flower pots and whatever else your little ones want to play with. Like a sandbox, but it’s for gardening! http://www.theimaginationtree.com/2011/03/making-play-garden-part-1.html
Paint Flower Pots
Gather your paints, gems and glue. Head to the nearest home and garden center and pick up some plain clay pots. These are fairly cheap and will be the best to decorate! Set up an area indoors or outside where you and your kids can have fun decorating a flower pot. Making each piece unique will add even more beauty to your garden. http://www.theimaginationtree.com/2011/02/flower-pot-painting.html
Draw
Indoor play can still fit with the theme! Young Rembrandts has 3 new “How To Draw” activities for Spring 2013. All new and all FREE. Click here to print them out today. http://www.youngrembrandts.com/download-activity
What is your child’s learning style? There are three basic learning styles; visual, tactile, and auditory. Take the test and get immediate results: Is your child a visual learner?
