Along with being an author and speaker, I have a ‘side job’ as the CEO of Young Rembrandts Franchise, an art enrichment program for kids 3 to 12years old. After teaching thousands of children how to draw in the Chicago suburbs, we became a franchise company eleven years ago. Now, there are Program Directors across the country and internationally, that hires and train remarkable individuals to teach art to children, using the Young Rembrandts method.
Research has proven that when children participate in art, their test scores are higher. We’re excited to see research is proving what we knew all along, but we don’t do art because it helps with test scores.
I love art, I especially love kids art. That’s why March is one of my favorite months. Youth Art Month celebrates art education in the United States. It is observed in March, with thousands of American schools participating, often with the involvement of local art museums and civic organizations. I was honored to have been scheduled to speak that the Menomonee Falls Public Library on March 5th but unfortunately a snow storm was approaching the area. Cancellation preparations had been in swing but the event went as planned the next day. I am so thankful for technology and my ability to appear in spite of being snowed in miles away.
We have some great spring activities for kids. Spring allows adults and kids alike to step out of the day-to-day and into the peace of your own backyards. After a long winter… it is finally time to play. Gather the kids and get to work, spring is here!

Brayden has the distinct advantage of having drawing classes at home. As the founder of Young Rembrandts, I’ve taught thousands of preschool kids how to draw, but always enjoy special time with my grandson.
