Read, Draw and Write This Summer
Visual learners typically have a hard time formulating their thoughts into words when it comes time to write about something they have just read. We have created this simple activity to help them figure out what they want to say by drawing a picture first and then writing. As children are more comfortable with reading, it’s time to focus on their reading comprehension skills. This is a simple activity that lets kids draw and write about what they read. The drawing and writing helps them turn the words they heard into images they can remember. It also helps focus their thinking so they can write about what they read. Download this activity and get the kids started translating their thoughts into images and words. Need the story paper? Download that too.
