Meet Hannah and Grace. They love art. They love being creative. They love to tell people that art is their ‘thing’. For the most part, art is a solitary pursuit. That’s good because time spent doing art is time spent exploring and sharing one’s own imagination. But there are times that even artists want to be part of a group. They want to be on a team. Art class is a great place to gather and enjoy fellow art lovers, but how can they tell the world – they’re on the art team?

I’ve recently been featured in the latest issue of Franchising USA Magazine. Check out my article here, “Mastering the Art of Franchising” or by visiting the Young Rembrandts Franchise site . Here’s a sneak peak…
“The Young Rembrandts difference is that it’s not just a business or product, it’s a mission,” explains Fetter. “Our franchisees are passionate and mission orientated and the quality of the product doesn’t compare to just any art class. Recently with Brayden, my grandson, it seems like most of his cold weather clothes are about at their tipping (or ripping) point, until we pulled out this gem.

This is one of my all time favorite drawings. My son did it when he was in first grade and attended weekly Young Rembrandts classes. Like all parents, I am especially fond of anything and everything my own kids do, but this drawing represents so much more.
First – he drew a collection of cacti! Not sure that would ever have happened without being in a drawing class.
Then – look at all those details! Check out that line work, the colors, and the multitude of careful little lines for the ‘pokey things’ on the cactus. You can tell by looking at it, he really enjoyed the line work and all the careful coloring.
