I am so excited to be speaking at the Wisconsin Afterschool Association’s Annual conference this weekend. I will be doing three sessions related to the importance of afterschool programming and how we can use it to give creative outlets to our right-brain thinkers as well as expand the skill sets of  left-brain thinkers in order to boost academic performance for all students. It is so important for our students that we get this message out there and support funding for these kinds of programs. Afterschool programming plays an important role in increasing academic performance and feelings of well-being while decreasing crime rates among children ages 5-18.

    your program more effective especially for visual learners. Activities
    will include ways to help early readers be more successful, improve
    handwriting, write essays and use the arts to develop learning skills.
