Right brain creative kids and adults are enormously valuable thinkers, with boundless gifts and abilities, but are highly misunderstood, undervalued and often made to feel like we are less than.To increase understanding on who we are as thinkers and students, I’m doing a 6-month series on what it means to be a right brain thinker.
Teachers teach the subjects and curriculum dictated by their district, but the way it’s implemented can vary teacher to teacher. Conference time can be a great time to work together to find ways for your child to thrive.
Now that you’ve read in depth about what each side of the brain does well and taken the quiz to figure out which side of the brain is driving your child, let me give you a reference guide to help you keep their strengths in mind in your daily lives.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for kids headed into the classroom. As parents, we want to feed our kids well, but we’re being flooded with a lot of mixed messages about what’s good.
School is well in session and I’m sure you have hit a few bumps with homework already. Whether you have a visual learner just starting school or an older visual learner, I have found lots of great ways to make homework time easier through the years.
Summer is all about creative play and finding ways to continue learning while still having lots of fun and being exposed to new and interesting things. Here are some ideas to get the kids started in their creative adventures where the limits are boundless.
To stop the summer math drain, it’s important that our visual learners stay fluent on basic math facts and operations. Take a look at your child’s school papers, so you know what they’ve been working on and what they need to practice.
Visual thinkers need to see what they are learning and are often overwhelmed in language heavy classrooms. Take this quiz to see if your child is a visual learner.
