Editorial Reviews

”In Being Visual, [Fetter] shares her life-long passion for teaching and the arts–and shows how they come together to create tomorrow’s innovators.” —-Lee Woodruff, New York Times bestselling co-author of In an Instant and ”CBS This Morning” contributor

”The future will undoubtedly bring more visual learners; the disconnect between the education system and these learners will become a vast chasm if we continue on our present course. Being Visual is a strong step in the right direction, and should be required reading for anyone involved in education, parenting or the arts in today’s visual generation.” —-Jeffrey Freed, co-author of Right-Brain Children in a Left-Brained World: Unlocking the Potential of Your ADD Child

”[Being Visual] weaves theory, personal experience and helpful suggestions into a unique tapestry. This is a powerful call to reinstate the arts in education.” —-Linda K. Silverman, Ph.D., Director, Gifted Development Center, author of Upside-Down Brilliance: The Visual-Spatial Learner

Reader’s Responses

October 13, 2012 – The book has great insights as a parent. If you are “wired” differently than your child getting common understanding can be difficult. As a divorced father not there every day it has been even more difficult in connecting with my son who operates differently than I or his two siblings. Why doesn’t he see things as I do or like his brother and sister?

This book has created insight for me into how my son sees the world. Neither of us has a wrong view we just see it through different lenses. I have learned a lot from the writings and already have seen improvement in our relationship. As a parent, a must read!  —-A Dad
